Which States are Freer?

A totally unbiased and statiscally in depth analysis was conducted by some guys at George Mason University called "Freedom In the 50 States: An Index of Personal And Economic Freedom." Basically, it shows us what the freest states are!

No surprise that "according to the authors of the study, while conservative states do perform better than liberal ones, it is moderately conservative states which are in fact the freest."

You hear that liberals, conservative states are just plain freer, and that's a proven fact now!

Wow, what a great find Michelle. Clearly, the concept of freedom is composed of the freedom to mine, drill, drink alcohol, and smoke in public places. I read all the paragraphs on the top 5 and bottom 5 and those are the criteria they talked about. I agree completely. I seem to remember my favorite local talk radio host lambasting efforts to restrict smoking in public places here in WV. And the anti-freedom zealots forced him off the air, what with their manipulation of the rating system and all.

At Reggie's urging, I have attempt to comment. I do commend Michelle on her research. After reading the underlying study again and using all my conservative neurons, New Hampshire is the freest on account of their motto "Live Free or Die". Unfortunately it looks like Mountaineers need a new motto because they are not free. How about "How'bout them eers" Generic and doesn't mention our freedom or lack thereof.

Great points Marvene. I knew you had it in you. Although I think that a motto not including the word 'freedom' is a net negative. It isn't enough to just live freely...you have to say it over and over, to try to catapult the propaganda.
