A Return to Serious Political Discussions

We here at the CLF have all enjoyed the recent diversions of artistic talents by Michelle's son and Marvene's grandson. I am sure Spencer and Marvin will go far in the field of Christian art. In keeping with that theme, a group of grown up Christian artists have opened up my eyes to a serious matter of political and social importance....

Side hugging.

Even I was not aware of the dangers of frontal hugging amongst our non-married community. Frontal hugging is just a gateway to more sinful behavior, such as necking and hand holding. Side hugging is clearly the way to go. And I have to thank the good folks at TFH for putting this pertinent issue into a rap song, complete with dancing and sirens!! Enjoy.

Clearly, these are tough street kids who have turned their life around due to Christ. They even said they were rough riders, which I heard first in a DMX song a decade ago. DMX was very hard core, so these young rappers must truly be rough riders by any definition you can think of.

Very thoughtprovoking commentary.... it goes quite well with a very old CLF post I did about a middle school banning any form of touching (including hugs):

I don't think the young female dancers were quite filled with enough of Christ's love. They got tired after the first few minutes.

Friends, I am appalled at this group. It looked to me like they were dancing. The shaking of hips and wriggling of bodies must surely be of the devil. I applaud their stand on no touching though. Heaven knows I have been tempted more than once by a frontal hug that lingers just a bit too long...I was forced into behavior in my bedroom at night for which I later had to go to confession, lest my palms become hairy...yes, full frontal hugs are evil indeed!

I agree somewhat with your comments on the dancing. Its too well choreographed. Again, I prefer the spontaneous jumping, yelping, and wiggling that we enjoy at my church. Still, we have GOT to get to our youth somehow. I am ok with some synchopated beats and choreography if it will open some young eyes into the truth that is our specific version of Christianity.

WFP, you concern me with your last comment though. I completely agree that self touching should be avoided at all costs. But did you just say you went to confession?? Don't get me wrong, I am just fine with idol worshippers. Our very own Fuido is one of them. But from your previous comments, I assumed you to be Protestant. Am I correct on that?

Quite right Reggie - I am a Protestant, not one of those New England-style Catholic liberal crusaders. Did you know they drink wine in church?! Bah, I am a Protestant because that's how God intended us to be...I know God's mind you see.

Side hugging is a practice I have adopted since a frontal hug from a very hairy man last fall during a mccain/PALIN rally at my Assembly of God church left me improperly sexually stimulated and my face scratced. Jesus doesn't like face scratching OR pleasurable anal penetration from a bi-curious, underpaid teenager while your wife is out buying groceries.

Winston, so good to hear from you. I remember seeing you at the CVS a few months back. I wish you had told me about the side hugging fad then. I just heard about this cool new rap song last week. I feel like I'm always catching up with the latest fad. Side hugging is probably already passe. The youth are probably doing air hugs or using a white sheet to separate their bodies now. Can't wait to see the youtube video on that :)
